Patron Saint of Lost Items: This association stems from an incident where his stolen prayer book was returned after he prayed for its recovery. It also stems from lost souls.
Priesthood: A Franciscan friar. He initially was an Augustinian canon but later joined the Franciscan Order. He is known as St. Anthony of Padua, signifying his strong connection to the Franciscan order and the city of Padua where he spent much of his ministry.
Other Associations: Associated with Portugal, Brazil and various cities and regions within these countries.
